Registration / Contract: The registration / the contract of participation is valid only if the complete course fees for the first month and the registration fee of EUR 15,00 (that you only pay once) have been paid and the Lernakademie Darmstadt has formally confirmed the payment. The rest of the course fees must be paid at the latest when the course starts. For students who register from abroad and who need a visa the contract is only valid, if the registration fee (that you only pay once) and the complete course fees have been paid for the time booked. All the bank charges have to be paid by the student. The courses in small groups and the individual courses have their own conditions.
Amendments to bookings: Amending a booking to a subsequent course is only possible up to one week before the course starts. We will charge a re-booking fee of 40,00 EUR.
Visa: If a visa application is not granted the registration fee of 40,00 EUR will be forfeited. An original copy of the embassy or consulate confirming that the visa application has been rejected must be submitted at least one week before the course is supposed to start. Only then the course fees (less bank charges and the registration fee of 40,00 EUR) will be refunded.
Payment: The entire course fees must be paid at the latest at the beginning of the course.
Total number of lessons: The total number of lessons of a course can slightly differ from the number of lessons confirmed by the Lernakademie Darmstadt. This can be the case because of the spontaneous illness of a teacher or because of bank holidays. Lessons will not take place on bank holidays.
Minimum period of participation: The minimum period of participation on intensive courses German is four weeks (A1 – B1). If teaching days are not attended, they cannot be refunded or made up.
Interruption of the contract: It is not possible to interrupt the total period of time chosen in the registration. In the case of illness or of unforeseen events in the home country of the participant, the course fees will not be refunded for the current month. If the participant has booked a course for several months and in case that a severe illness prevents the student from taking part in the rest of the course, we will, out of courtesy, consider an interruption of the contract. In this case a doctor’s certificate must confirm the illness of the student. If the number of participants of the course falls below the minimum the above mentioned courtesy cannot be applied.
Conditions of withdrawal: Before the start of the course there are the following payment conditions:
- Withdrawal up to eight days before the course starts: payment of the inscription fees
- Withdrawal within the eight days before the course starts and after the start of the course: payment of the entire course fees and the inscription fees
- Liability: The Lernakademie Darmstadt is not liable for the cancellation of lessons as a result of force majeure. The school is not liable for the loss of personal objects. The school is not liable for accidents and illnesses of the students. For damages caused by the student he or she is liable towards the school or the person damaged. The participant has to care for his own health insurance, his personal liability insurance and his accident insurance.Specific agreements are only valid if they have been confirmed in writing by the school management. The participant of the course hereby agrees with the payment on schedule of the course fees and with the business conditions of the Lernakademie Darmstadt.
